Day #1

Monday, May 10th, 2021

Hi there! Today was the first day of my senior project entitled "Senior Snickerdoodle". Essentially together, Lexie Knowles and I are going to be in the dining hall baking and delivering treats to dorms/day students. We were in the kitchen working on our senior project from 10am-2pm! Today we officially started back in the kitchen and got familiar with all of the large equipment and where everything is kept. Barb also introduced us to the staff, specifically the baker Hannah, who will definitely be helpful in teaching Lexie and I her baking secrets & tricks. We then got all of our recipes for the next week and planned out what treats we would be making, and eventually, delivering to specific dorms. Later, we also made homemade bread today which was so cool! Make sure to get a roll at tomorrow's lunch because they were handcrafted by Lexie and me! After we made homemade bread, we then made homemade Cinnamon rolls that will be out for tomorrow's breakfast. Overall I really loved today and Barb is so sweet and helpful. I am not a very experienced baker, so I hope by the end of this project I will have developed some skills in the kitchen that I will be able to carry with me into the future! Shoutout to Barb for all of her hard work and help for this project, she is really making it happen for us!
